Birthday Fun

We had a fun filled week and weekend for Ethan and my birthday. We took Ethan to Disney Sea and Disneyland this past week for his birthday. Wednesday we went to Disney Sea and it was nice but we like Disneyland much better. There wasn't a whole lot of rides for Ethan at Disney Sea to ride. We seemed to ride the same 5 rides over and over, but he had fun and that's all that mattered. Then on Thursday on his actual birthday we went to Disneyland. We saw so many Disney characters this time. Plus Ethan got special attention at both places because Disney gave him a birthday sticker so when ever we saw a Disney character he got special attention. He loved it. The weather was great both days and it wasn't that crowed at all which was great. Ethan was a little fussy on the second day. I think two days was a lot for him but we all had fun and enjoyed our selves. Ethan didn't sleep well in the hotel we stayed in so none of us had much sleep that night and were all wore out by the end of the second day. There are many pictures so please enjoy.

Ethan always gets the ladies attention where ever we go:)

On Saturday Randy and I went out for the night for my birthday. We went to dinner and to a couple of bars. It was a lot of fun. We went to one of Randy's favorite bars that he calls the Rock N Roll bar. The owner of the bar looks like Chong and he plays all American Rock n Roll music. The bar was very small, only 6 seats. At midnight all of them sang happy birthday. That was fun.

On Sunday we had a little birthday party for Ethan and I. I made 4 cakes because there was 4 of us with birthday's in March. Ethan, Pat, Yuka, and I. I can't take back any food products when we leave so I made all the cake mixes I had. It took me forever to make due to the small microwave/oven that we have. I can't wait until we get home and I have a big oven. We bought Ethan this riding toy that does 360. We had to show him how to use it because to make it go you have to push the button with your foot. Once he figured it out he ran right into everything. Randy made a pinyata for the kids and they had a blast.

Good Bye Parties

So my good bye parties are already starting. It is sad to think we only have a few weeks left in Japan. My first party is with my scrapbooking group. They setup a luncheon at this resturant that was in a house. They offered babysitting serives while we ate. The kids ate first and then went to play while us adults ate our lunch. It was very nice.

This is what Ethan's lunch looked liked. I thought it tasted good but he didn't think so.

Last shopping trip to Tokyo with the ladies without kids: Ten of us ladies went to Tokyo for a fun filled day of shopping at Ikea, eating at Outback, and out to the bars. It took us about 3 hrs by train to get to Ikea. I got some good stuff at Ikea and would have bought more if I could of gotten it home with me. Outback was sooo good. You can't appreaciate good American food until it is taken away from you. Beth and my birthday is in March so they thought we needed to be sung to. So the outback gang gave us icecream with a candle, sang to us, and took our picture. By the time we got done with dinner and got to a bar it was 10 pm and our train was leaving at 11:10. So not much time to drink. Overall it was a good day to hang out and have adult converstaion with out the kids.

Jan and Feb

We didn't do a whole lot in the month of Jan. or Feb. Randy was on a business trip for 1 week in Jan. and 2 weeks in Feb. He was doing winter testing. We went to the science museum in Utsunomiya for a day in Jan. Ethan just liked running around the whole place. There was a huge ball pit area that he just loved. Can you find Ethan?

Then we visited a place call Oya. Before we went we ate lunch at an Italian restaurant where Randy ordered a calzone and when he got the calzone it was huge. The calzone was all air except for at the bottom where he had his toppings. It was just to funny looking not to take a picture. Oya is a mining town . There was an underground tunnel made out of the Oya stone but the pictures didn't come out very well. Many events take place in this cave such as weddings and concerts. I am not sure why you would want to get married in the cave because it looks kind of scary and cold.

These pictures are of Ethan eating bananas that he got out of the kitchen when I wasn't looking. I think the pictures says it all.

While Randy was on his two week business trip in Feb. Ethan and I went to Tokyo for a couple of days to visit Amanda, Ian, and Addison Haggerty. The Haggerty's are another Honda family that arrived last April. Ian works for the R&D for the motorcycle plant which is in Tokyo. Amanda had some fun fill couple of days for us. Their daughter Addison is 2 months younger than Ethan and they had a blast. As you can see they loved playing on the futon. The first day we did some shopping and ate at TGI Fridays. Then the second day we went to an indoor play place for kids. I think the kids enjoyed the play place and it wore Amanda and I out. Ethan and I were going to stay a second night but he didn't sleep well the first night so we took a late train home so we both could get some sleep. They loved play in the kitchen.
