Japanese Social Wives Club

Ethan and I joined the Japanese Social Wives Club. I met this Japanese lady at a play center I take Ethan to. She has been taking English for 8 yrs. She is in the club where some of the wives with children in the town I live in get together once a week and do an activity together. The first activity we went to was starwberry picking. Very famous in Japan. We got to pick and eat as many strawberries as we could in 30 mins. Let me say Ethan and I had so many strawberries. Good thing he loves them or I would had to eat more than I did. See that big stawberry in his hand. You would think he would bite a piece at a time to eat but no he decided to shove the whole strawberry in his mouth at once. They were so sweet and good. Much better than any stawberries I have ever eaten in the U.S. Keep checking back on this posting for more future activites that we plan on doing.

Fukushima

Michinoku Castle
This is a popular castle in Fukushima. It was a journey to get there. In Japan there are tons of toll roads. Some cheap and some expensive. You don't know the cost of them until you are on them. The directions we had was going to take us on a toll road and ended up costing us $40 one way. It took us 2 hrs to get there. So we decided to take a different way back instead of getting on the toll road. We managed to make it back without using a toll road but it took us almost 4 hrs to get home. Was it worth the $40? Haven't decided on that one. Even though it did take us longer the view was very pretty. We were in the mountains with a lake by the road. We weren't impressed by the castle. It looks cool on the outside but they redid the inside to make it look more like a musem. It was nice long day trip.

Hanami Watching

Hanami Watching: this takes place in many different parks across Japan at the end of March or first part of April. You watch and enjoy the beautiful cherry blossom trees.

Ethan enjoyed the sunshine and playing around in the grass for the first time. He also enjoyed the taste of cotton candy.
