Seibu Lions Japanese Baseball Game

This was Ethan and my first Japanese baseball game and Randy's 2nd. Randy said it would be crazy and it was. The fans for the Lions were very supportive of their team. They all wore wearing something that said Lions on it and had banging noise makers for when they cheered. We sat in the outfield on carpet grass. They don't have real grass for the game so they use fake carpet grass. Each player has a special song that the fans sing for them when they are up to bat. There was a conductor that stood on a platform along the fence that got the crowd started for each song and cheer. It was very loud but fun and Lions did win.

The Lions colors are blue and white so blue hair wigs were very popular. At the beginning of the 7th ending you are suppose to let balloons go. When they hit a home run you wave your Lions flag.

And through all the excitement Ethan decided to take a nap for 1 1/2 laying on me.

Okinawa

We went to Okinawa for 4 days and 3 nights. We went during the rainy season because it was much cheaper but we didn't actually think it would rain all day every day. We were wrong. The only day it didn't rain was our last day there. We got a little sun. We found stuff to do. We went to one of the largest Aquarium in Japan. This aquarium is known for the whale shark. It was big. As you can see in the picture. Ethan had a double ear infection before we left. He seems to always get sick before we fly. Here in Japan when kids have ear infections they drain the fluid out of the ear. Sound painful, it is. It took four us to hold him down so they could do it. Apparently this is the best method for ear infections but the doctors in the U.S. are not trained on how to do this. They don't put tubes in kids ears here. He did fine on the trip but when we got back 3 days later he had more fluid so he got to have his ears drained again. My poor monkey man has not been happy. He did take his first steps on the trip. The beds we had to sleep on were as tall as my knee so perfect height for Ethan and he had a blast getting on and off of the beds. We did get a little lost on the way back to the airport. The rent car we had, had navigation in it but it didn't show you the road numbers around you just the one you were on. So I had directions to get back to the airport but I thought I would hit the home key to take us there instead. Well you would think the home key would be programmed to take us back to the rental car place, but no it took us to some shrine instead. So when that didn't work we tried to put the phone number in to take us where we needed to go but it wouldn't let us. Needless to say we did make it with 30 mins to spare. We definitely let the rental car place know about how wonderful their navigation system worked. Overall it was a good trip.
